Living in my fantasy

Posted on: May 9, 2008 1:41 pm

Most sports blogs post fantasy info on hot prospects, potential breakouts, and other general steals of your league that you or I might want or already have on one's team.

That's stupid.

Why would you want to give out all that info to your opponents?

Therefore, I give you the first installment of the fantasy spotlight on:

Randor Bierd

A rule 5 draft pick via the Tigers, Bierd went 3-2 with a 3.38 ERA at AA Eerie in 07. He finished the year with a K/BB of 52:10 in 45.2 INN. So far in 08, before going on the DL, in 9 appearances he has logged 13.3 INN with a sparkling 0-1 record and a 1.35 WHIP.

Fantasy Analysis:

Has a cool manly name, said to have some mystical off-speed pitch capable of bringing vampires and dragons to their knees.

Fantasy Recommendation:

A Must reserve in all deep 18+ team leagues with multiple DL spots. Only own him if you can afford to stash away a MRP on a sub-par team that may or may not be a fixture in the majors.

Randor Bierd in all leagues???

All knowing and mystical Rehban, please answer me this and forever bless me with your Fantasy Guruness.

I have Jake Peavy in a Mixed League this year. He's been struggling though and I'm wondering if its time to drop him and pull the trigger on this Randor Bierd fella??? Could he be the missing piece that my team needs to win me the championship this year. What do you think???

Living in my fantasy

At this time, dropping Jake Peavy in a mixed league wouldn't be advisable, but if you happen to be owning someone like a Mark Redman...., hey at least Bierd can't get you negative points. Right? Right

Damn, I own Redman too, but, I thought his value was climbing with talk of him being moved to the bullpen. Jeez, decisions, decisions.
